It’s not too late to steal a piece of Internet history!

The MillionDollarHomepage

The MillionDollarHomepage… the stuff of Internet legend.

According to Wikipedia, “The Million Dollar Homepage is a website conceived in 2005 by Alex Tew, a student from Wiltshire, England, to raise money for his university education. The home page consisted of a million pixels arranged in a 1000 × 1000 pixel grid; the image-based links on it were sold for $1 per pixel in 10 × 10 blocks. The purchasers of these pixel blocks provided tiny images to be displayed on them, a URL to which the images were linked…

… introducing MailtOWA. The missing Office 365 webmail feature?

One of the joys of being a Developer is building little things to fix simple problems.

To that end, i❤️.ws brings you MailtOWA: Mailto O365 Webmail / OutlookWebApp (Google Chrome Store Link), a Chrome extension which makes mailto: links open Outlook Web Application by by default.

That’s it. Nothing too fancy, just something that’s been driving me crazy as an OWA user.

It’s free. Source is available at github.com/jonroig/MailtOWA

Enjoy!

The Album Cover for the Emoji Domain Song by Drake Url and the Emojinarians

Now supporting .fm. Also, i❤️.ws becomes the first domain project to get it’s own theme song.

SCOTTSDALE, AZ , April 16, Domain Research Group launches i❤️.ws 2.0, with tons of new features, a new TLD, and a (ridiculous) theme song.

“Emoji are amazing,” says i❤️.ws Developer Jon Roig. “So much work has been done to make them visually appealing. All we had to do with put emoji front and center and then the emoji themselves do all the hard work of making the page look interesting.”

Launched during a 24 hour hackathon 18 months ago, the addition of the .fm Top Level Domain (TLD) gave a i❤️.ws chance to rethink and redesign the site.

Weirdos of the Internet Unite!

😀.fm: To celebrate the launch of .fm emoji domains, i❤️.ws, the World’s First Emoji Domain Registration Site, commissioned Matt from Motern Media to create a theme song. .ws emoji domain search at I😀.ws

Hard to believe it’s been 18 months since we launched i❤️.ws emoji domains! Goes without saying, we’ve learned some valuable lessons along the way, honed our craft and expertise, and all that stuff.

Most of the improvements have been behind the scenes and / or subtle, but now, on the eve of our introduction of .fm emoji domains domains, we’ve built a vastly improved single TLD site for .ws domains: i😀.ws aka emojidomain.name.

Besides graphical improvements — we made all the emoji a lot bigger — lots to show off here:

Onward and upward!

Careful observers will note the migration of many of these features to the main i❤️.ws emoji domain site soon.

Updated 9/14/2017: All search engines support Emoji Domains. Seriously!

Google status: 💯

Google Emoji Domain search results
  • Full Emoji Domain support.
  • Emoji display correctly in the title, although the first heart — the red heart — is displayed as black. (They are essentially the same emoji… it’s complicated.)
  • Full emoji compatibility for the inline description, as well as Rich Cards.
  • .ws domains perform well in Google indexes, as they are treated like gTLDs instead of regional domains.

Bing status: 👍
